Platou oval Forget-me-not

Mihai Topescu is a renown Romanian glass artist, among his many awards featuring the Coburg Prize for Contemporary Glass (Germany). His work has been exhibited all over Europe and can be found in museums in Italy, Germany, Belgium, Romania, Czech Republic, Denmark and in numerous private collections.

After finishing his studies at the Academy of Fine Art in Cluj, he became the chief designer of the glass factory in Targu-Jiu, Romania, which was considered, at the time, one of the best in Europe. As such, he poured his creativity into several product lines, from tableware to home decorations, that enjoyed considerable commercial success.

He continued his studies at the Kunst Akademie Baden in Vienna, and in 1994 he opened his own workshop. Since then, he has received many awards for his work and his artistic contributions are constantly recognized and appreciated.
