"Snail Affair" Table Lamp - Galle type

During the reign of Carol the 1^st of Romania, the Royal Manufacture’s chief glassmaker sent his son-in law, Emerico Montesy, to study the art of the glass at the renowned École de Nancy in the Galle and Daum Freres workshops during 1921-1923. At his return in Romania, Montesy became the Artistic Director of the Azuga Glass Factory  and started conceiving his own glass pieces using the new learned techniques. Ever since then, the Romanian glass craftsmen kept and improved the original Galle techniques, the pieces produced in their workshops still carrying the unique charisma, the brilliant decors and an uncompromised quality of execution.
